Vijay Sethupathi’s Maharaja becomes the ‘Maharaja of Box Office’
Producer Sudhan Sundaram says, “It’s not just a commercial success to get delighted about, but something phenomenal that I have experienced as a producer. Maharaja has given a new lease of confidence that film enthusiasts are always ready to welcome and appreciate content-driven movies. When we decided to materialize ‘Maharaja’, we were confident that the audiences would enthrall and appreciate But what has surprised us is the type of celebration and the commercial accredition we recieved. It’s great to see that Tamil cinema has produced a lot of succesful movies in the first six months of 2024, and we are glad that Maharaja has clasped a top position. We owe a lot to the press and media fraternity, who never paused a second to rave about the film. I am grateful to industry friends, who selflessly spread positive words about the project, and finally, the loveable audiences, who have now instilled great responsibility to produce more such movies that emphasize strong content and I also take this oppurtinity to wish the very best to all the forth coming releases. Maharaja is produced by Sudhan Sundaram of Passion Studios in association with Jagadish Palanisamy of The Route. The film is written and directed by Nithilan Swaminathan.
கோலிவுட்டில் இந்த ஆண்டு 2024ல் முதல் ஆறு மாதங்கள் வெளியான படங்கள் வணிகம் மற்றும் உள்ளடக்கம் சார்ந்து ரசிகர்களின் எதிர்ப்பார்ப்பை பூர்த்தி செய்தது. அதில், விஜய்சேதுபதியின் ‘மகாராஜா’ திரைப்படத்தின் பெரும் வெற்றி வணிக வட்டாரங்கள், திரையரங்கு உரிமையாளர்கள் மற்றும் விநியோகஸ்தர்கள் மத்தியில் பெரும் மகிழ்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. இந்தத் திரைப்படம் வெற்றிகரமாக பாக்ஸ் ஆபிஸில் ரூ. 105 கோடிக்கும் அதிக வசூலை ஈட்டியுள்ளது. பெரிய பட்ஜெட்டில் பான்-இந்திய படங்கள் வந்த போதிலும் ‘மகாராஜா’ திரைப்படம் இன்னும் பல திரையரங்குகளில் வெற்றிகரமாக ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது. மேலும், வெளிநாடுகள் மற்றும் தமிழ் பேசாத பிரதேசங்களில் இருந்தும் இப்படம் அற்புதமான வரவேற்பை பெற்றுள்ளது.
தயாரிப்பாளர் சுதன் சுந்தரம் கூறும்போது, “இது வணிகரீதியாக கிடைத்த வெற்றி என்பதையும் தாண்டி, தயாரிப்பாளராக இந்தப் படம் எனக்கு ஆத்ம திருப்தியைக் கொடுத்துள்ளது. உள்ளடக்கம் சார்ந்த திரைப்படங்களை வரவேற்கவும் பாராட்டவும் திரைப்பட ஆர்வலர்கள் எப்போதும் தயாராக இருக்கிறார்கள் என்ற நம்பிக்கையை ‘மகாராஜா’ கொடுத்துள்ளது. ‘மகாராஜா’ திரைப்படத்தை உருவாக்க முடிவு செய்தபோது, இது பார்வையாளர்களை நிச்சயம் கவரும் என்று நம்பினோம். ஆனால் எங்களை ஆச்சரியப்படுத்தியது என்னவென்றால், கமர்ஷியல் ரீதியாகவும் எங்களுக்குக் கிடைத்த அங்கீகாரம்தான். 2024 ஆம் ஆண்டின் முதல் ஆறு மாதங்களில் தமிழ் சினிமா நிறைய வெற்றிகரமான திரைப்படங்களைத் தயாரித்திருப்பது மகிழ்ச்சி அளிக்கிறது. அதில், ‘மகாராஜா’ திரைப்படம் ஒரு சிறந்த இடத்தைப் பிடித்திருப்பது எங்களுக்கு பெருமை. படத்திற்கு ஆதரவு கொடுத்த பத்திரிக்கை மற்றும் ஊடகங்களுக்கும் நன்றி” என்றார்.
பேஷன் ஸ்டுடியோஸ் சார்பில் சுதன் சுந்தரம், தி ரூட்டின் ஜெகதீஷ் பழனிசாமியுடன் இணைந்து தயாரித்துள்ள படம் ’மகாராஜா’. இப்படத்தை நித்திலன் சுவாமிநாதன் எழுதி இயக்கியுள்ளார்.
